Black History Month for the end of February 

Did you know? James Maxie Ponder was in the military and killed by a gain of white people. Below is his military document.







James Maxie Ponder M.D. (February 22, 1888 – March 4, 1958) was a physician and the first African-American admitted to practice at Mercy Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was regarded as an influential leader of the African American community in St. Petersburg. For his service in the US Army Medical Reserve Corps duringWorld War I, Ponder received a Presidential Citation. Currently, a bronze plaque hangs in his honor at Bayfront Health Center.

On a good note I was in St Petersburg, Florida when the Mother Mary and Jesus showed up on the building. It was Jan 1997 when I was there. Great city with a lot of nice and giving people.
