With all that is going on in America today, we need kindness, smartness, and important people to treat each person as they want to be treated. I love this movie because it shows that we sometimes make decisions to do something to someone else base on what is going on in our lives. Rather the decision we make is right or wrong, those decisions will affect a person's life and what decision they make for themselves.
This is a racially motivated movie and I am a person who doesn't like the word "racism". I know a lot of people may not see this movie as a non-inspiring movie, but in this clip, it shows how much this woman loves that little girl giving her important words to remember. It also shows that black people were in the homes raising those kind, smart, important children. We have a purpose in this life to give one another the kindness, respect, love, and help we all need to live a peaceful and content life.
In conclusion, I pray that our government gives people of America the kindness, smartness, and important decision to give the help we all need.
The feeling Selina express in this movie came from years of mistreatment from her mother and uncle. Once she became friends with a person she could not see and he treated her with dignity and kindness she begins to recognize the difference of how she was being treated.
Today, people need to be blind so they can see the character of a person and not judge anyone by their feature. It seems that racism is returning in our people all over the world, or maybe it never left the people's attitudes and they hide their real feeling. Whatever is going on in this world today we need to use our common sense and treat people as you would want to be treated. I am a person who has great faith in God and I know in my heart when we die, God doesn't see any difference in us all. We all are humans that have too many differences that need changing. God made us all humans with only one difference in our skin tone.
In conclusion, we need to progress into a better future and evolve to what God loves about us that we are all created for a purpose in life.
This is a black cast movie that has some good recognizable actors and actresses along with Mr. Sidney Poiteir. Dorthy Dandridge was great in this movie playing Carmen who develop a relationship with two men where she has to deal with issues between both of the men.
If you enjoy musical movies this would be the movie to place in your library from Youtube by renting to watch for 48 hours or purchase to start your library.
This movie represents what was face with racial problems during that time. As of today, we have more interracial marriage where these marriages deal with more scrutiny from the black and white race. I remember when I was in North Dakota in 1976, I met an interracial couple and I spoke to them. They asked me why did I speak to them and I told them I was happy to see them together. It really made me think about this movie. They were so happy that I spoke to them, they took me and my husband out to dinner.
Mr. Sidney Poitier was an academy award winner, which is a great accomplishment during that time. I understand that some streaming platform will be removing any racial issue movies or cartoons. I can't understand why they would do that because this is history within itself. I pick this movie because it does use racial language, however, the character Mr. Poitier played said one thing in this movie that means a lot today, " you think of me as a color man, I think of me as a man".
Mr. Poitier, I really want to thank you for all your accomplishments as a black actor making waves for other black actors and actresses to succeed in their life goals. It means more to us simple everyday working people to achieve our goals being a person of color.
If streaming platforms start removing these old movies that deal with racial issues and you like these old movies as I do, I recommend that you start your own library from Youtube to enjoy.
Another favorite that Mr. Poitier acted in is Patches of Blue. A movie of empathy and caring for another human being regardless of the color of there skin.
This is an old but goodie that I love. When you see the places you have been which I think to myself I see God's face in all the flowers I see. I vision God's eyes like the stars in the sky. The very thought of the Creator of this earth makes you know life is beautiful all around us. Nothing lasts

When I feel down I think of God looking at me and I don't feel so lost. During this time I need something to uplift me. We have so much going on in the year 2020 that I fret to think about what everyone else's feelings, that we are in our last days. I want to keep hope that we are not in the last days and God is watching over all of us.
