The Purchase of Alaska

This is amazing that we purchase Alaska in 1867 and now our President is having problems with Russia. As I have said I am a history person and very little political. People of America we must know our past so that we will not repeat history of get ourselves involve with something that could become beyong our control.

The Alaska Purchase (Russian: Продажа Аляски, tr. Prodazha Alyaski) was the United States' acquisition of Alaska from the Russian Empire on March 30, 1867, by a treaty ratified by the United States Senate, and signed by president Andrew Johnson.

Russia wanted to sell its Alaskan territory, fearing that it might be seized if war broke out with the United Kingdom. Russia's primary activities in the territory had been fur trade and missionary work among the Native Alaskans. The land added 586,412 square miles (1,518,800 km²) of new territory to the United States.

Reactions to the purchase in the United States were mostly positive; some opponents called it "Seward's Folly" (after Secretary of State William H. Seward), while many others praised the move for weakening both the UK and Russia as rivals to American commercial expansion in the Pacific region.^[2][3] The purchase threatened British control of its Pacific coast colony, giving added impetus to Canadian Confederation, which was realized just three months later, in July 1867. The Dominion of Canada would welcome British Columbia to confederation in 1871, ending US hopes of annexation and an uninterrupted connection of Alaska to the United States.^[4]

Originally organized as the Department of Alaska, the area was renamed the District of Alaska and the Alaska Territory before becoming the modern state of Alaska upon being admitted to the Union as a state in 1959.^[5]

The Hell's Belles Club

In my journey of relationships I experience so many avenues and highways with a man. What I mean is, I have traveled with a man to find my destiny or where I belong. I have even spiritually use my mind to be with a man that is attached to his own family. My age does not matter, however it does when it comes to knowing who I am, and where I want to be. With my religion background and knowing some political issues, I find myself alone and without a mate to enjoy this wonderful world of mines.

Hell's Belles is about writer's from the south and other areas of the world, that has endured problem of relationships and having the desire for a man that has dominion over women anyway. I created this site to get some feedback from the women of the world today who lives in this man's world and what they have to endure to stay attached and keep the man they really love.
